Summary

To give Adotme access to your Google Ads account, send us your 10-digit Customer ID. We'll send a manager account linking request for you to approve under Admin → Access and security. Once approved, we'll verify access and begin managing your campaigns. You don't need to share your Google password or verification codes. Your account remains yours, and Adotme will let you know if any additional permissions are needed.

To manage your Google Ads campaigns, Adotme Marketing Agency needs access to your Google Ads account. Follow these steps to connect your account and ensure we have the correct permissions.

Step 1: Provide Your Google Ads Customer ID

Sign in to Google Ads and locate your 10-digit Customer ID at the top of the page. Send this ID to the Adotme marketing team so we can request access.

Step 2: Accept the Access Request

Once we send the request, sign in to your Google Ads account.

  1. Navigate to Admin → Access and security.
  2. Locate the pending manager account request.
  3. Review and accept the request.

You must have administrator access to approve the request.

Step 3: Confirm Account Permissions

When Adotme connects through its Google Ads Manager Account, the manager account link generally provides the access needed to manage your campaigns. You typically don't need to assign additional permissions to the agency separately.

If Adotme needs direct access to an individual Google account, we may ask you to invite that user under Admin → Access and security → Users.

  • Standard Access: Allows campaign management, including creating and editing ads, adjusting budgets, and optimizing performance.
  • Admin Access: Includes additional administrative capabilities, such as managing user access. Only grant this when necessary.

For most campaign management work, Standard Access is sufficient for individual users.

Step 4: Confirm Access

Once the request is approved, Adotme marketing will verify that we can access your account and manage your campaigns.

Your Google Ads account remains yours. Never share your password or verification codes to grant access.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What permissions should I give Adotme?

When linking through Adotme's Google Ads Manager Account, you generally don't need to assign separate user permissions. If we're requesting direct access to an individual Google account, Standard access is typically sufficient for campaign management.

Will Adotme own my Google Ads account?

No. Your business retains control of its Google Ads account, billing, and account ownership. Linking a manager account allows Adotme to manage your advertising without taking ownership.

Where do I find my Google Ads Customer ID?

Sign in to Google Ads. Your 10-digit Customer ID appears near the top right of the account, usually formatted as 123-456-7890.

I can't find the access request. What should I do?

Make sure you're signed in to the correct Google Ads account and have administrator access. Check Admin → Access and security for the pending request. If it isn't there, contact Adotme to confirm the request was sent to the correct Customer ID.

Do I need to create a new Google Ads account?

No. Adotme can generally link to your existing account, allowing you to retain your campaign history, data, and account settings.

Does Google Ads access include Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager?

No. These platforms have separate access permissions. If Adotme needs to configure tracking or review analytics, we'll let you know what additional access is required.
